Student Data Analyst and Software Engineer

About Me

Hi! I'm Sahar (she/her), and I love solving problems through code and finding patterns in data. I'm currently a sophomore at Cornell University majoring in computer science. My main interests within tech are backend development, machine learning, and data science. Outside of tech, I enjoy painting, drawing, and listening to music. I care about making a positive impact through my work, whether I'm helping one person or one thousand. I'm also energized by working with cutting-edge technology.

Projects

These are a few cool projects I've made or helped work on!

A-List  I worked with 3 other students to create an iOS app for Cornell AppDev's Hack Challenge. This app consolidates celebrities' social media and websites so users can keep track of new activity from their favorite celebrities in one place. I developed the backend of the app using Flask to update a relational database that stored the app's information.

Spotify Data Analysis  I used Spotify's Web API and Python to analyze music from my favorite band. This was a way for me to practice data visualization and basic analysis. I also performed K-Means Clustering to group similar songs into clusters.

Office Supply Store Data Analysis  I completed a capstone project for a data science training program where I developed predictive models from office supply store data. I used these models as well as data visualization to provide insights for the types of customers that would contribute to the most profit.

Other Projects

  • Cozy:  A Google Chrome extension that uses a home address from a housing website like Zillow or Trulia to display information about natural disaster risks in the area.
  • Memory Match Game:  A very basic memory matching game programmed in C++. One of my earliest fully individual projects.

Fun Hobbies

I enjoy drawing and painting as a creative and fun outlet. These are some pieces I've made recently!
